Now Taking Applications for Lee’s Summit Home Preservation Program

Home Repair/Improvement Loans:

Truman Heritage Habitat offers 0% interest home improvement loans for minor exterior repairs based on funding available. More information is below.


Aging in Place:

Aging in Place is a movement to not only enable people to age safely in their homes, but also to create an environment where older adults can continue to learn and contribute, develop relationships with people of all ages, maintain a healthy lifestyle, live independently, and receive healthcare and support services that are community-based.

Roughly 20% of the residents in Jackson County are 60 years or older and 18.5% of this population lives in poverty. Truman Heritage Habitat works with elderly residents to upgrade or restore their homes so they can continue living in their houses, be independent, and contribute to their communities.

Critical Home Repair

 Truman Heritage Habitat may be able to help with roof replacement, code violations, accessibility, and safety concerns as funding allows. If your house is in need of critical repairs, we may be able to help.

Weatherization Upgrades:

Truman Heritage Habitat Works With Independence Power and Light & Spire to Help the Homeowners of Independence MO.

This service is available due to a grant. Thank you to our sponsors: Spire and Independence Power and Light.

  • You could be eligible to receive a new hot water heater, furnace or air conditioner, attic insulation, or window caulking.
  • Income – Household income at or below 50% in the below chart
  • Willingness to partner – agree to complete 20 hours of “sweat equity” or volunteer work
