Habitat’s homeownership program works through the power of partnerships – bringing families, volunteers, and communities together for lasting change. Our homeownership program makes it possible for those who may not qualify for a traditional home mortgage to live in safe and affordable homes.
Your affordable home may be just around the corner. Our homeownership program is called H.O.P.E. – HomeOwner Preparation through Education. It provides you with the coaching, education, and support to be successful in your homebuying journey. These free resources will help you select the path to homeownership that works best for you.
Graduating from our Master Homeowner program is mandatory for either pathway. This is your first step to becoming a Habitat homeowner.
Our homeowner education program empowers people to buy a Habitat home with a 0% mortgage interest rate. Future homeowners will pay an affordable mortgage that is no more than 30% of their income.
Truman Habitat partners with local lending institutions to assist with making homes affordable. These could be rehabbed homes or homes being purchased on the open real estate market. We act as your advocate connecting you with affordable lending institutions.
Join us each quarter for a nine-week workshop series with topics to equip, educate, and empower you to become an informed homeowner!
Your current living situation is unaffordable, temporary, overcrowded, unsafe, etc.

“I envision a home for my kids where we don’t have to worry about the landlord or the rent raising. We will have stability. We won’t have to move. This home is my biggest blessing other than my children. The kids are through the roof with happiness. They’re already working harder in school. Their grades have gone up. Our lives have turned around.”
