Independence ReStore is reopening on May 27th!
The Independence ReStore will be reopening on May 27th. The hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. All staff, volunteers, and customers will be required to wear masks. The stores will follow Jackson County social distancing measures in accordance with Phase One. The Independence ReStore has a new look. It has been cleaned, reorganized, and is stocked with new merchandise.
The Blue Springs ReStore reopened May 13th. The Blue Springs ReStore has had record-breaking sales since opening. All proceeds from both ReStores support Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity’s mission to empower families to achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership.
The ReStores will accept donation drop offs at both the Blue Springs and Independence locations on Tuesdays from 9 am to 4 pm, Wednesday-Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm. The merchandise will all be sanitized before being sold. Staff will be available to help you unload your donations on these days, but you can do drop offs other days without staff help. If you cannot drop off on Tuesday, we prefer for you to call and set up an appointment, but it is not required. We are in need of donations to restock our inventory.
The ReStores will not schedule donation pickups at this time. The ReStore accepts furniture, building supplies, housewares, windows, doors, and more. For a full list of what we accept, visit our website at https://trumanrestore.org/items-we-accept/.
All proceeds from the ReStores support Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity. Truman Heritage Habitat helps Habitat homeowners build their own homes alongside volunteers, and pay for the home through a zero-interest mortgage. Housing affordability allows Habitat homeowners to save more, invest in education and well-being, and to improve financial stability. Habitat builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
