Community Service Opportunities for Individuals

If you have been assigned community service, we have hours available at our ReStore locations in Independence and Blue Springs. (Please note that our policy excludes those with theft or violent offenses from participating). Please fill out the form below and we will contact you to schedule your orientation and volunteer hours.

We rely on volunteers for our ReStores. Our ReStores are open in Independence and Blue Springs for people to support our mission by shopping, donating, and volunteering. Our volunteers sort, collect, clean and organize our donations, and assist customers.

The ReStores are open in both Independence and Blue Springs. They are a perfect volunteer opportunity for individuals who want to be up and moving but who also prefer to be indoors. Our ReStores rely heavily on the help of volunteers to minimize our overhead and maximize the support we provide to your local Habitat for Humanity, which ultimately helps us serve more families in need. The ReStore is a discount home improvement outlet that sells gently used items at discounts of up to 50-75% off retail prices. The volunteer tasks at the ReStore include receiving, sorting, cleaning, and organizing donated items, customer service, and other miscellaneous tasks. We do have some opportunities for minors to volunteer with parental involvement.
